Better than The Best

Breaking away from the mold and format of a banking app in the Middle East, a uniquely personalized user experience and information architecture was designed for the ENBD’s mobile banking application across iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile 8 devices. The app allows customers to login for mobile banking facilities such as balance enquiry, transfers, etc. and was the first in the region on Windows Mobile 8. The app has been awarded the eBanking 2013 Excellence Award for Best Mobile Banking Application and the Best Mobile Banking App in the Middle East and Africa. A key development in the second version of the app was the integration of the physical brand experience into the application. This allows the users to ‘Book a Queuing Token’ from the app to see a teller or a customer service agent. The app suggests the nearest branch to the customer, based on the location and issues a token accordingly, notifying them of the number of people currently in queue and the expected waiting time. Should the customer be delayed in traffic and unable to make it to the branch on time, the token is cancelled and a new one re-issued.
